Hello — I’m Laura, the face behind Laura Carys Photography Studio. Based in Briton Ferry with a studio in Port Talbot, I specialise in family photography: creating relaxed, timeless family portraits that celebrate the small, everyday moments that mean the most. With a First Class Honours Degree in Photographic Art and multi award-winning experience, my approach is rooted in calm, creativity and a genuine love for working with children and parents. Why choose me for your family photoshoot? I focus on authenticity. Rather than stiff posing, I look for the connections, the shared laughs and the little gestures that tell your family’s story. My studio is warm, private and child‑friendly with a wide selection of props to personalise your session. There’s no rush—sessions are un-timed so we can work at your family’s pace, whether that means catching a sleepy newborn portrait, coaxing a toddler’s giggle or gathering three generations for a treasured portrait. How I work: I create a relaxed atmosphere where everyone feels at ease. I’ll gently guide you through natural poses, encourage playful interaction and use familiar games or songs to bring out genuine smiles from little ones. Parents and siblings are always welcome to join in, and I also photograph larger family groups when you want extended portraits for grandparents or special occasions. Practical comforts matter just as much as the photography. The studio has wheelchair and pushchair access, a comfortable reception area, a private feeding and changing space stocked with allergy-free wipes, and facilities to warm bottles. These details let you relax and enjoy the session while I focus on capturing beautiful, lasting images.
