I’m Nicola — a family photography specialist based in Woodside, Glenrothes. I believe photographs are the little pieces of your story you’ll return to for years, and my passion is creating natural, timeless family portraits that reflect who you really are. Having built my business around raising my four children, I know how fast the years pass and how precious these moments become. My approach is relaxed, warm and personal. Whether we’re in my cosy garden studio or out at a favourite location like Balbirnie, I aim to put everyone at ease from the moment you arrive. I’m a people person by nature — I’ll chat through ideas, guide gentle poses, and encourage the playful moments where true personalities shine. My style sits firmly in authentic, candid imagery with the option of classic posed portraits when you want them. Children, babies and pets are at the heart of my work. I have experience working with newborns and always follow a baby-led approach — prioritising comfort and safety at every step. Pets are absolutely welcome too; I enjoy including them in family pictures and can also create special pet portraits should you wish. For larger family groups I use a friendly, calm method — and when necessary I’ll combine separate group shots in post to create seamless family portraits. How I work: we start with a friendly conversation so I can understand what’s important to you. On the day, I keep the session relaxed and fun — lots of prompts, games for the kids, and plenty of time for natural interactions. After the shoot I carefully edit your images to produce a varied gallery of emotive, high-quality photographs you’ll be proud to display. My background in performance taught me how to connect with people quickly, and being a mum of four gives me real empathy for how to manage busy little ones during a session.
