I’m Mel, the face behind MLD Photography, based in Arbroath and serving Forfar, Angus and the wider Tayside area. As a specialist in family and portrait photography, I focus on telling your family’s story through relaxed, candid images that feel timeless and true to who you are. My work leans into a vintage, fun aesthetic while always prioritising the real moments between you — the laughter, the tiny gestures and the honest connections that become treasured memories. With a 14‑year background in Early Years education, I know how to put children at ease, how to spark natural reactions and how to capture authentic personalities without forcing poses. I’m also paediatric first‑aid trained, so newborn and baby sessions are carried out with safety and calm at the forefront. My approach is intentionally laidback and client‑led. I favour organic, documentary-style shooting that encourages families to relax and enjoy time together; that relaxed atmosphere helps even the most camera‑shy children show their true selves.
