Hi — I’m Donald, the photographer behind Forth Photography, based in Alloa and working across the Forth Valley and the Trossachs. Family photography is my primary focus: I specialise in family-friendly, stress-free photoshoots that let you be yourselves and enjoy the time together while I quietly capture the moments that matter. My approach is simple and relaxed. No studio pressure, no fancy clothes — just you, your family and the places you love. Pick a favourite outdoor spot or we can work in your home; bring toys, a football or a pair of wellies if that’s what makes your family tick. I’m used to working with children and pets and have developed a calm, patient style that helps even the most camera-shy little ones relax. For families who enjoy a more formal portrait, I also use a mobile white or black background with a flash studio setup in your own space. I’ve been photographing for over 30 years and working with digital tools for the last 20, so I combine a lifetime of observation with modern techniques. My aim is to produce natural, honest family portraits — a mix of candid, documentary-style images and thoughtful posed shots. Before a shoot we’ll have a quick conversation to plan locations and timing so the session runs smoothly and feels effortless. While family photography is at the heart of my work, I also photograph events across the area. I’ve covered running events including the Edinburgh Marathon, Loch Ness Marathon, Scottish Half Marathon and the Great Scottish Run, plus local events for Tay Fitness Events.
