I specialise in family photography from my base in Muswell Hill, and my work is all about freezing those small, extraordinary moments that make family life so rich. For more than twenty years I’ve combined a documentary approach with considered portraiture to create black and white images that feel both personal and timeless. My aim is simple: to tell your family’s story with pictures that your children will still love when they’re grown. Why choose me? My clients often tell me that I put everyone at ease quickly — even the camera-shy teenager. I only take one session a day so we can move at your pace: follow naps, extend play, pause for biscuits and enjoy an unhurried morning together. Working on location — at your home, a favourite park or on a family holiday in the capital — allows me to capture authentic interactions and the everyday details that are unique to you. My style is unobtrusive and affectionate. I look for the small gestures and spontaneous laughter as much as the composed portraits. Shooting exclusively in black and white removes distraction and brings faces, relationships and light to the foreground; it’s a choice that makes images endure and hang beautifully through the years. How we work together is straightforward and personal. After an initial conversation to plan the session, I’ll arrive early on the day so we make the most of morning light and fresh energy. After the shoot I carefully process the images and arrange a private viewing where we’ll consider how best to present your pictures. I’m proud to offer a bespoke, hands-on service — from curated albums to framed prints — and I’ll guide you through selecting the images that feel most important to you. Families come to me for newborn, baby and children’s portraits as well as for wider family gatherings such as baptisms, communions and birthdays.
