About the Photographer

I’m Ginny, a Lancaster-based family photographer who believes that everyday life is beautiful and the small moments are the ones that count. I specialise in family photography across North Lancashire and the South Lakes, creating colourful, characterful images that celebrate connection — between partners, siblings, children, parents and the spaces you love. My approach is warm, unhurried and playful. I don’t really use the term “photo shoot” because it feels too formal — instead I aim to be part of your normal family life for a short while. That might be at home, on your favourite walk, or somewhere special to you. My sessions are relaxed and documentary-led so that the laughter, small gestures and fleeting expressions become the pictures you’ll want to live with and look at every day. Why people choose me is simple: I focus on creating images with heart. I combine an eye for colour and composition with a gentle, conversational style that helps even the most camera-shy members of the family settle and be themselves. Whether you want portraits that feel joyful and candid or emotive newborn and children photography that tells a story, I work to capture the moments that matter — not staged poses but real life, full of personality. I value trust, care and consent in every session. Before we meet I’ll have a chat to understand what matters to you, where you like to spend time and the kinds of memories you want to keep. On the day I’m patient, flexible and mindful of family rhythms — pauses for feeds, cuddles and play are all part of the process and often become the best images. Afterwards I carefully edit your favourites so they’re ready to share, print or hang on the wall. Beyond family photography I’m involved in community projects and occasional workshops, and I bring that collaborative, people-focused energy to every session. If you’re looking for professional family photos that feel authentic, joyful and unmistakably you, I’d love to hear about your family and the moments you’d like to remember. Let’s chat and plan something relaxed, creative and full of connection.
