Hi — I’m Jodie, a Hythe-based family photographer who specialises in creating relaxed, natural images that truly feel like you. Family photography is at the heart of my work: I love documenting the small, honest moments — the tiny hands, the messy kisses, the way siblings tangle together — so your walls and albums hold the feeling of your life, not just posed pictures. My approach is friendly and unhurried. Whether we meet on the beach at sunset, in a nearby wood, or in the comfort of your home, I work to make everyone feel at ease (and yes, I’m more than happy to join in the games and antics to get the real smiles). I prefer sessions where children can run, explore and be themselves; that freedom lets me capture authentic connection and emotion rather than stiff poses. Parents often tell me they forget I’m there — that’s when the best moments appear. I bring practical experience and a gentle, down-to-earth energy to every shoot. Being a mother informs how I work with families: patience, humour and a calm presence are central. I’ll guide you when we need a little direction, but mostly I observe and react to the story unfolding. My goal is to deliver a gallery that makes your heart swell and shows what your family felt like in that moment. While family photography is my specialism, I also photograph newborns, maternity and baby-firsts (including cake-smash sessions for first birthdays). These complementary sessions allow me to tell your family’s story from bump to baby and beyond, always with the same relaxed, personal approach.
