Hi — I’m Irma, an award-winning family photographer based in Hove, Brighton & Hove. I specialise in documentary-style family photography and maternity sessions that celebrate real life rather than staged perfection. My work is about feeling, not forcing; I look for the small, unguarded moments — the way someone’s hand lingers, a burst of laughter, a quiet look between parent and child — and turn them into images that feel honest and timeless. I work in natural light and use a documentary lens, preferring to observe and join in rather than direct. That means less posing and more real moments: children at play, older relatives sharing a joke, expectant parents caught in a quiet embrace during a maternity shoot. Sessions are relaxed and paced around your family’s rhythm — I aim to make the experience feel like a normal part of your day, not a production. Working together is straightforward and friendly. We’ll start with a chat about what matters to you and where you feel most comfortable. On the day I focus on making everyone feel at ease, letting interactions unfold and stepping in with gentle prompts when helpful. After the session you’ll receive a curated selection of beautifully edited images to enjoy and share.
