I’m Alan Wright — a Horsham-based family photographer who specialises in relaxed, natural portraits that celebrate real life. As a dad of two and a photographer with over 15 years’ experience working with families across West Sussex, my approach is simple: connect, have fun and capture genuine moments that become treasured pieces of your family story. Why choose me? I focus on family and maternity/newborn photography as my core expertise. I know how fast childhood passes and my goal is to press pause on those fleeting moments. Whether we’re exploring a favourite woodland, wandering along the coast, or photographing your newborn at home, I aim to create an easy, enjoyable session where children feel free to be themselves and parents can relax. My images lean toward emotive, timeless portraits — a mix of gently guided groupings and candid moments where personalities shine. How I work: everything starts with a friendly discovery call so I can learn about your family and what matters to you. A planning appointment (in person or video) before the shoot helps finalise location, outfits and any special ideas. On the day I keep things calm, playful and flexible — particularly for newborns, where sessions are mother-and-baby led with plenty of time for cuddles and feeds. After the shoot we meet for a Design & Ordering appointment where I bring product samples and help you choose the best way to display your portraits at home. I personally guide families through options such as framed wall art, fine-art albums and portrait boxes so your images are displayed with the care they deserve. Local, considered and sustainable: I’m based in Billingshurst and travel throughout Sussex and Surrey. I take pride in sourcing high-quality, sustainably produced materials for framed pieces and albums, and I enjoy delivering printed artwork in person when practical. While family photography is my specialism, I also help businesses with professional headshots and commercial imagery as a secondary offering. One-hour headshot session at your office or home; images selected from the session are purchased individually and include retouching.
