Specialist documentary family photographer in the High Peak. Anett captures relaxed, everyday moments—children, babies and family life—without posing, creating authentic keepsakes.
I am a documentary family photographer based on the edge of the High Peak, Derbyshire, and I specialise in capturing the honest, everyday moments that become the memories you cherish. My work is all about real life — the messy mornings, the cosy sofa snuggles, the games in the park — and I aim to preserve the unique personality and dynamics of your family without staging or forced poses. Why choose me? Because I photograph families the way they actually are. If the idea of a formal photoshoot makes you uneasy, my approach will feel more like a relaxed catch-up with an old friend than a photography session. I’m patient with children, gentle with newborns and babies, and I know how to read the rhythm of family life so I can be present without getting in the way. That’s how I capture authentic expressions, small gestures and spontaneous connections that look and feel honest years later. My process is simple and flexible. Documentary sessions are largely observational — I’ll meet you in your favourite places, whether that’s at home, out on a walk in the Peak District, or somewhere meaningful to your family. We can loosely plan a few activities to help the day flow, but mostly I’ll be a quiet presence, photographing the moments that happen naturally. Sessions can be short or long, from a relaxed hour to spending much of a day together; the more time we have, the more relaxed everyone becomes and the richer the story I can tell with images. I care about creating photographs that feel lived-in and true. I celebrate the perfectly imperfect parts of family life — muddy boots, untidy hair, the triumphant grin after a board game — because those are the details you'll want to look back on. My aim is to deliver images that feel like you: warm, personal and full of character. If you’d like family photographs that reflect your life rather than a posed version of it, I’d love to talk. Based in the High Peak, I work with families across Derbyshire to create lasting, documentary-style family portraits and albums that become treasured keepsakes.
