I'm Anna — a Hastings-based family photographer who loves capturing families exactly as they are: messy, laugh-filled, tender and real. After sixteen years in teaching and school leadership, I bring a calm, patient approach to every session. I know how to put children (and adults who ‘hate having their photo taken’) at ease, so the photos feel authentic rather than posed. My specialism is family photography. I prefer shoots in places that matter to you — your home, a favourite park, the beach or any spot where your family can be themselves. My aim is to create photographs that reflect your relationships: the way you laugh together, the small gestures, the playful chaos. Rather than calling out rigid poses, I offer gentle prompts, little games and moments of silliness so that natural smiles and interactions are captured. I also photograph newborns and baby sessions at home, where the lighting and setting are calm and comfortable for you and your baby. These sessions are relaxed, allowing time for feeds, cuddles and those tiny, perfect details that pass so quickly. For families who prefer shorter seasonal shoots, I run mini sessions throughout the year — bluebells, blossom weekends and Christmas tree farm shoots — which are great for festive cards or quick family updates. My style leans towards reportage: unobtrusive, observational and focused on real moments. At family shoots I’ll often stand back and watch, stepping in with playful direction when a moment needs nudging. I edit carefully, spending hours ensuring the colours and tones feel timeless so your photos can be treasured for years. Working with me is friendly and low pressure. Before any session we have a chat about what you want, where you’d like to be photographed and any must-have shots. On the day I encourage movement, games and genuine interaction — yes, even a little noise — because those are the images you’ll love.
