Storytelling through the lens is at the heart of my family photography. Based in Hartley, I specialise in natural, relaxed family sessions that prioritise connection over stiff posing. My aim is to capture the small, unscripted moments—the laughter, the tickles, the quiet cuddles—that together tell your family’s unique story. I work with families in a gentle, unhurried way. Sessions are playful and child-centred: we sing, hunt for mini-beasts, dance or simply cuddle on a cosy sofa. That relaxed atmosphere helps children (and adults) forget the camera and be themselves, which is when the most expressive, authentic images appear. I favour minimal, natural posing so the photographs feel honest and timeless rather than overly styled. Whether we’re in my Hartley studio or exploring a nearby location, I bring a calm, experienced approach. I offer location advice and scouting so we can find settings with texture and character—floral scenes, long grasses or colourful autumn landscapes—which are favourites for families with older children. In the studio you’ll find a warm, welcoming space with comfortable seating, refreshments and a relaxed pace so everyone feels at home. Before your session we’ll chat about what matters to you: favourite spots, wardrobe, and any little moments you want me to capture. I provide wardrobe and styling guidance to help you choose outfits that work well together and photograph beautifully. On the day I guide interactions with gentle direction, encouraging natural play and connection rather than forced smiles. My editing is hand‑touched to preserve the tone and emotion of each image. I focus on creating a gallery of photographs you’ll cherish and enjoy displaying around your home—images that will prompt stories and memories for years to come.
