I’m Laurie, and family photography is at the heart of everything I do. Based between Halesowen and Bromsgrove, I specialise in relaxed, natural family sessions that focus on connection, personality and those small, unrepeatable moments. My style favours soft, neutral tones and natural textures so the focus stays where it should be—on your family and the relationships between you. What makes my approach different is my experience with children. I work in schools three days a week supporting children with behavioural needs, self‑esteem, trauma response and speech and language differences. That background means I know how to build trust quickly, calm nerves and create a playful, safe environment where even the most camera‑shy little ones feel comfortable. I always prioritise building a genuine connection first—when everyone feels at ease the photos become honest, joyful and timeless. Sessions take place in my welcoming Bromsgrove studio or out on location around the West Midlands (I commonly photograph within and around Halesowen). The studio is a calm, light‑filled space with a private dressing room, makeup area and a selection of natural props and backdrops, perfect for classic indoor portraits. Outdoor sessions are ideal for families who prefer a relaxed, lifestyle feel—children can run, explore and be themselves, which leads to beautiful, candid images. My process is simple and personal. Before your shoot we’ll have a chat about what you’d like to capture and I’ll offer guidance on outfits, colour palettes and how to get the most from the session. During the shoot I work gently and patiently, allowing plenty of time for breaks, play and cuddles so the whole experience feels fun rather than forced. After the session you’ll receive a proof gallery to choose your favourite images and I aim to deliver final edited photos promptly. I love documenting family stories—whether it’s a relaxed studio portrait, a golden‑hour outdoor session, a mini seasonal shoot or a milestone celebration.
