I’m Ben, a family and portrait photographer based in Poulton‑le‑Fylde on the Fylde Coast. As a father of three I know the photos you keep close are the unforced, everyday moments: the hugs, the games, the puddle‑jumping and the bedtime giggles. My work is rooted in informal portraiture — no stiff studio poses, just relaxed sessions where you and your loved ones do what you do best while I quietly record it. My approach is all about atmosphere and authenticity. Before a shoot we’ll talk about places and activities that have meaning to your family — the beach near Blackpool, a favourite park, the kitchen where you bake together or a simple walk with the dog. Choosing a setting you’re comfortable in lets children be children and reveals personalities naturally, which is exactly what I aim to capture. I welcome pets, props and hobbies because they tell your story and make the images feel genuinely yours. Working with families means being flexible and patient. I create a calm, playful environment so even camera‑shy children relax. I look for the small interactions — a whispered joke, messy hands, a proud grin — as well as the broader family moments. Those candid frames, combined with a few relaxed group shots, create a complete portrait of your family at this moment in time. I invest energy into building a good rapport with you so the shoot feels fun not forced. Every image is treated with care. I edit to enhance the mood and emotion of each photograph while keeping them natural and true to the moment.
