I’m Sylvia, an Enfield Town-based family photographer who believes the most meaningful portraits come from real connection. Family photography is my core passion and specialism — I focus on capturing the quiet, candid moments and the small gestures that make your family unique. Whether you want a classic family portrait, sibling images or relaxed hands-only family shots, my priority is to create a calm, reassuring experience so everyone — especially little ones — can be themselves. My background as a nurse shapes the way I work. Years of caring for newborns and families taught me patience, safety-first handling and how to soothe nervous parents and children. This means sessions are relaxed, child-centred and run at your family’s pace. I use gentle posing, natural lighting and minimal, elegant styling so the photos remain timeless and focus on emotion rather than trends. Working from my cosy Enfield studio, I create a friendly atmosphere where parents and children feel at ease. I always start with a short pre-session chat so I understand what matters to you — favourite interactions, meaningful family groupings, or treasured keepsake ideas. During the session I guide and encourage rather than direct, capturing authentic smiles, tender moments and playful interactions. Sibling shots, parent-child portraits and individual images of children are all integrated naturally into the session. While family photography is my speciality, I also work closely with families around the maternity and newborn stages — bringing the same calm, professional approach to sessions that include tiny babies. I provide studio props, wraps and a selection of dresses for maternity shoots when relevant, and I practice safe posing and handling at every step.
