I’m Lucy McGrath — a family photographer based in Devizes with a warm, welcoming studio at Paxcroft Farm in Hilperton, Wiltshire. Family photography is at the heart of what I do: I create simple, timeless portraits that capture real connection and the little moments you want to remember. Whether you prefer the calm of the studio or the natural light of an outdoor location, my aim is always the same — to make your family feel comfortable and to create images that feel honest and enduring. My approach is relaxed and gentle. I know how unpredictable children and babies can be, so I work at your pace, offering gentle direction and lots of patience. I specialise in photographing families, babies and children, and I love milestone sessions such as sitter shoots and first-birthday cake smashes. My fine art studio portraits are created with attention to light, composition and emotion — I aim for photographs that feel both classic and personal, the kind you’ll treasure on your walls and in albums. Working with me is straightforward and friendly. We’ll talk before your session so I know what matters to you — the shots you love, the colours you prefer, and any small details that make your family unique. On the day, I focus on creating a relaxed atmosphere so everyone can be themselves: playful, shy, giggly or serious. I capture both candid moments and beautifully posed portraits, giving you a varied collection of images that tell your family’s story. I photograph families across Wiltshire, Bath and Somerset, and I’m happy to recommend outdoor locations if you’d like a shoot on location. My studio is child- and family-friendly and easily accessible, making it an ideal setting for newborns, toddlers and larger family groups.
