Hi, I’m Nicola (Nic) — a specialist family photographer serving Dartford and the surrounding Kent area. For well over a decade I’ve focused on telling the story of families: the tiny details, the connections, the laughter and the quiet moments that become your most treasured memories. My work is guided by natural light, a gentle approach and an aim for images that feel elegant, timeless and completely you. Why choose me? I bring years of hands-on experience photographing families, newborns and children, and I’ve photographed hundreds of little ones. Coming from a hairdressing background, I care about the small things that make you feel confident in front of the camera. My studio is warm and welcoming — a place where children relax and families can be themselves — and I also love capturing outdoor sessions in nature when the light and season are right. What makes my approach special is how I blend relaxed, documentary-style moments with soft, styled portraits. I’ll gently guide you into flattering poses, but I’m happiest when I can capture spontaneous smiles, sibling play, and true connection. If you have a camera-shy child, don’t worry — my sessions are relaxed and child-led. I also bring props, blankets and client dresses to help create the look you imagine, and I’m always happy to share practical soothing and swaddling tips for newborns. How we’ll work together: from the moment you enquire I’ll make booking easy and friendly. Before your session I’ll share guidance on what to wear and how to prepare so everyone feels comfortable. On the day I focus on creating a calm atmosphere — whether in my Bexleyheath-based natural light studio (close to Dartford) or at a nearby outdoor location — and we work at your family’s pace. A few weeks after the shoot you’ll receive a private gallery to view and choose your favourite images. I love being part of this chapter of your family’s story.
