My approach is natural, happy and relaxed: I centre every photoshoot on connection and trust so that you and your family feel comfortable, laugh easily and forget the camera is there. That relaxed atmosphere is where the most genuine expressions and fleeting interactions appear, and those are the images I love to create. As a mum myself I understand the practicalities of family life. For newborn and baby shoots I often come to your home so you don’t need to pack up little ones; we work at your baby’s pace, take breaks for feeds and naptimes, and make the most of the natural light in your rooms to produce calm, personal photographs. For outdoor and location sessions I pick moments of soft light — bluebells, meadows or autumn leaves — to give your family portraits a timeless, authentic feel. My process begins long before the camera comes out: I invest time in a pre-shoot conversation so I understand what matters to you, suggest locations or styling ideas when useful, and build a short shot list that reflects your family and personality. On the day I aim to be gentle and playful with children, patient with newcomers to the camera, and focused on creating a relaxed environment where everyone can be themselves. Technically I’m a trained, insured photographer who respects light and prepares thoroughly — you’ll often find me doing whatever it takes (yes, sometimes even a small ladder!) to capture the best angle. I prefer to get the picture right in-camera and keep post-processing thoughtful and meticulous, editing each image with care before you see your sneak peek and final gallery. After the shoot we’ll meet for an image viewing and to choose the formats that suit your home and your story.
