As Dumbletons Photography I specialise in family photography in Cambridge — capturing the honest, everyday moments that become treasured portraits. Coming from a studio with a history in Cambridge dating back to the late 1960s, I combine decades of experience with a fresh, easygoing style. Our custom-built studio in Dry Drayton is designed for families: a waiting and changing room for comfort, a make-up suite for last-minute touches, a dedicated editing suite where your images are refined, and a cinema-style viewing room where we pick favourites together. This is a calm, safe space — ideal for newborns, babies and energetic children. What sets my family sessions apart is the emphasis on atmosphere and storytelling. I aim to create sessions where laughter, tenderness and small interactions lead the way. Rather than forcing stiff poses, I guide gentle prompts and playful moments so genuine expressions emerge. For newborn work I prioritise safety and comfort at every step, working at the baby’s pace to capture delicate details alongside family connections. My process is personal: we start with a conversation about what matters most to you — whether that’s a relaxed multi-generation portrait, playful shots of toddlers, or intimate bump-and-family images. I advise on outfit choices, simple styling and how to make the session comfortable for little ones. After the shoot, each image is hand-edited in the studio to ensure clean, consistent colour and tone so your photos look great on screen and on the wall.
