I’m Sara-Jane and Shutterbaby is all about capturing the small, messy, joyful moments that make your family unique. Based in Brixton (SE24/Herne Hill area), I specialise in family photography and bring a warm, relaxed approach to every photoshoot. Whether we’re at home or wandering a favourite park like Brockwell or Dulwich Park, my aim is to create an easy, fun experience that lets your family be themselves — not a stiff, posed photoshoot. My style blends natural, lifestyle images with a few classic posed portraits so you have a beautiful mix of candid connections and timeless family portraits for your walls. I love the everyday: tickles on the bed, storytime on the sofa, siblings sharing a quiet moment. Those are the photos that make you smile years later. I’m especially comfortable with families who have young children and babies — I know how to be playful, patient and reassuring, and I always work in a way that keeps children relaxed and engaged. One of the things parents tell me they value most is how calmly I work. I only take one family session a day so we never feel rushed, and I set a gentle pace so toddlers and babies can take breaks when they need to. If your photos include a newborn, I bring newborn-safe handling and a baby-led approach so everyone feels comfortable. I’m a member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers and volunteer with Remember My Baby — photography that cares about people and safety is at the heart of what I do. I like to make the whole process simple: we’ll talk before the session about locations, outfits and what’s important to you; on the day I’ll encourage real interaction and playful moments; afterwards I’ll prepare a selection of images you’ll love. Many families choose to have a mix of colour and black & white prints that suit their home.
