As a specialist in family photography based in Barrow-in-Furness, I focus on capturing the real connections and little details that make your family unique. My approach is relaxed, friendly and personal — I aim to create an environment where everyone (including shy children and excitable siblings) can be themselves so I can capture natural smiles, tender moments and playful interactions rather than forced poses. Sessions take place in my cosy home studio or out on an Adventure Outdoors session, depending on the mood and story you want. In the studio I offer a comfortable, controlled space with a selection of backdrops, props and the option to personalise sets — bring favourite toys, outfits or request music to help everyone settle. Outdoors, I use natural light and local landscapes to create candid, atmospheric portraits that feel timeless and effortless. I specialise in family and children’s portraiture and milestone moments — from birthday and cake-smash sessions to christenings and special family gatherings. My experience working with kids means I balance patience with playful direction to capture authentic personality, while also keeping sessions fun and stress-free for parents. Please note I do not offer newborn-only sessions; small children should be able to sit independently for studio shoots. Working with me is collaborative and straightforward. I listen to your ideas before the session, guide you on simple wardrobe and prop choices, and create a calm pace on the day so you can relax and enjoy being together. After the shoot I deliver professionally edited images via an online gallery so you can easily view, share and download your favourites. While family work is my primary focus, I can also include pets in sessions and have experience photographing animals both in studio (small pets) and on location (horses and larger animals). If you’d like moments captured on video alongside photographs, I also offer videography as an additional option upon request.
