Hi there — I’m Emma, the face behind Emma Jane Photography. Based in Newton-le-Willows and proudly serving Ashton in Makerfield, I specialise in family photography with a warm, patient approach developed over years behind the camera. My work is driven by a simple belief: the best family photographs come from real connection, gentle guidance and a calm environment where children and parents can be themselves. As a family photography specialist I focus on capturing authentic moments — the small interactions, the laughter, the quiet cuddles — rather than forcing stiff poses. I photograph a wide range of family-focused sessions, including baby led newborn shoots, Cake Smash & Splash celebrations, sitter sessions and classic family portraits. Whether you prefer the controlled comfort of my studio or the natural, seasonal feel of an outdoor shoot, I tailor each session to suit your family’s personality and pace. My approach is relaxed and child-friendly. I work at your child’s tempo, using soft direction and playful prompts to create spontaneous expressions and genuine reactions. Newborn sessions are baby led and prioritise comfort and safety above all; Cake Smash & Splash shoots are joyful, fun-filled experiences designed to capture the personality of a first birthday with colour and energy. For family portraits I favour natural light, simple styling and unobtrusive storytelling so your images feel timeless and true to you. I trained at JMU and have been photographing families since 2003 — a passion that has continued to grow into a craft rooted in patience, creativity and attention to detail.
